To all Lindbergh Flyerette Applicants:
Thank you for your interest in auditioning for the Flyerette Dance Team! We will wait to decide our competition teams in mid-September or early October and will dance as one team for all of football season.
Our activities begin with team meetings the first week of April, Champion workouts and Flyerette technique training on Mondays in April, and team practices on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays after school will begin in April. Our first performance will be during the first week of June when we host the Gloria McBride Mini Pom Pon Camp, which is one of our main fundraisers and is mandatory for all Flyerettes and parents. Flyerettes participate in camps, fundraisers, practices, and social events throughout the summer. The Flyerettes will attend UDA Camp in late June. When school starts in August, we will practice together on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 2:45 – 5:30 pm. When preparing for major performances, we will either increase the number of practices or lengthen them as needed. Attendance at all practices is required in order to be eligible to perform. We will perform at all home Varsity Football games on Friday evenings at 7:00 pm in the fall season. Games are already posted on our calendar! Our calendar is posted online at www.Flyerettes.com/calendar. We encourage all applicants and their parents/guardians to review our calendar before auditioning for our team; however, if you have a conflict please contact a coach and do not let it deter you from auditioning. The Fall season will conclude with Senior Night at the end of football season.
Junior Varsity and Varsity competition squads will be determined in late September or early October. Coaches will determine if a Flyerette will be on the Varsity competition squad, Junior Varsity competition squad, as an alternate to either squad, or on neither squad. Squads will be based on skill and quality of performance. It is the coaches’ hopes and expectations for all Flyerettes to be placed on the Varsity or JV competition teams, however, it is not guaranteed.
As with any performing group, there are expenses each team member must incur. The estimated total costs are listed below. A more detailed breakdown of cost is listed in our Tryout Packet. These numbers are based on expenses from the 2017-2018 season. Please know there are various fundraising activities planned and implemented by our parent group throughout the year to offset a portion of each dancer's costs. Payment due dates are also spread throughout the year to help families budget and manage their costs.
Returning members - approximately $1650
New members - approximately $2150-$2250
As one of our parents said as we finsihed out this year, "Ultimately the return on the investment in the girls is immeasurable when one considers the breadth of their team experience throughout the year".
No videotaping during the clinics or auditions is allowed. All clinics and auditions will be closed to the public. In order for your child to audition for our team, you must complete and submit the 2019 Audition Packet by Tuesday, March 12th, 2019. If we do not have an audition packet, your child will not be allowed to audition.

During our competition season, dancers who made the Varsity team already possessing acrobatic skills may be highlighted during small sections of the routine(s).
The above list is only a suggestive list. We do not evaluate all of the above skills at tryouts. We do expect to put many of the skills in to our competition routines. If you have any questions about the skills evaluated at tryouts please contact Maggi Geisz at email@example.com.
If you are currently a member of the Flyerettes we encourage you to work with your coaches individually throughout the year to continue improving on the above skills! If you would like to be a future member of the Flyerettes we encourage all of our members to attend dance studio classes to work on the above skills.
Being a part of the team is an honor, but it is also a major commitment. Please read our entire 2019 Audition Packet before auditioning. Our calendar is available at www.Flyerettes.com/Calendar where you can get an idea of time commitment. We highly encourage all of our members to be in a technique dance class year round. All members are required to audition every year.
