To all Lindbergh Flyerette Applicants:

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for the Flyerette Dance Team! New this year, we will wait to decide our competition teams in late September or early October and will dance as one team for all of football season.

Our activities begin with team meetings the first week of April, Champion workouts and Flyerette technique training on Mondays in April, and team practices on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays after school will begin in May. Our first performance is in May at the Lindbergh Schools’ Spirit Festival. The first week of June we host the Gloria McBride Mini Pom Pon Camp, which is one of our main fundraisers and is mandatory for all Flyerettes and parents. Flyerettes participate in camps, fundraisers, practices, and social events throughout the summer. The Flyerettes will attend UDA Camp in early July. When school starts in August, we will practice together on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:00 – 5:00 pm. When preparing for major performances, we will either increase the number of practices or lengthen them as needed. Attendance at all practices is required in order to be eligible to perform. We will perform at the home Varsity football games on Friday evenings at 7:00 pm in the fall season. Games are already posted on our calendar! Our calendar is posted online at www.Flyerettes.com/calendar. We encourage all applicants and their parents/guardians to review our calendar before auditioning for our team; however, if you have a conflict please contact a coach and do not let it deter you from auditioning. The Fall season will conclude with Senior Night at the end of football season.

Junior Varsity and Varsity competition squads will be determined in late September or early October. Coaches will determine if they will be on the Varsity competition squad, Junior Varsity competition squad, as an alternate to either squad, or on neither squad. Squads will be based on skill and quality of performance. It is the coaches’ hopes and expectations for all Flyerettes to be placed on the Varsity or JV competition teams, however, it is not guaranteed.

As with any performing group, there are expenses each member must incur. In the past, girls have spent around $550 on uniforms during their first year on the team. In addition, there is a required $50 uniform deposit that is returned at the end of the season. Summer camp, a regional competition in Chicago, and a national competition in Orlando, Florida totaled $1,550 per girl for the 2014-2015 school year. Dues to cover incidentals throughout the school year were approximately $100 per dancer. Please know that there are various fundraising activities planned and implemented by our parent group throughout the year to offset a portion of each dancer's costs. Payment due dates are also spread throughout the year to help families budget and manage their costs. As one of our parents said as we wind down this year, "Ultimately the return on the investment in the girls is immeasurable when one considers the breadth of their team experience throughout the year".

No videotaping during the clinics or auditions is allowed.  All clinics and auditions will be closed to the public. In order for your child to audition for our team, one parent or guardian must be present at the Mandatory Parent Meeting on Tuesday, March 3rd at 6:00 pm. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any of the coaches listed below.

Sincerely,
Maggi Geisz – Head Coach                      Kristin Goehri– Assistant Coach                    Sara Krutewicz - Assistant Coach
